A leading Defense-Tech startup, developing advanced electro-optical systems for real-world defense applications, is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the R&D team and take a hands-on role in designing and developing mechanical systems and assemblies, from concept through production. The role offers significant ownership and involvement in solving complex engineering challenges.
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end mechanical development, from concept and design through production and field support.
Design, prototype, test, and validate mechanical systems and components.
Design cameras, lenses, enclosures, and electromechanical assemblies.
Optimize designs for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Create and maintain technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures.
Own multiple projects and independently drive solutions to complex mechanical challenges.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, production-ready solutions.
Work with manufacturing technologies including CNC, sheet metal, molding, and 3D printing.
Design mechanisms and enclosures for harsh environmental conditions.
Support vibration and shock testing and qualification.

B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
5+ years of experience in mechanical design.
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM.
Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes such as CNC, sheet metal, molding, and 3D printing.
Strong knowledge of mechanical components and material selection.
Experience designing mechanisms and enclosures for challenging environments.
Experience with vibration and shock qualification – a significant advantage.
Hands-on, self-driven approach with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive projects from concept to completion.
