OCI Network Reliability Engineering (NRE) is looking for a Senior Manager to lead a team focused on driving operational excellence through automation across the OCI physical network.
The NRE (Network Reliability Engineering) team is accountable for ensuring the robustness of the Oracle Cloud Network Infrastructure. A Network Reliability Engineer (NRE) role is primarily focused on applying an engineering approach to measure and automate a network's reliability to align with Organization's service-level objectives, agreements, and goals. The duties of the NRE team entail promptly responding to network disruptions, pinpointing the underlying cause, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to fully restore functionality. The NRE team members also oversee the automation of recurring tasks in daily operations to streamline processes, enhance workflow efficiency, and increase overall productivity. As OCI is a cloud-based network with a global footprint, this support will include hundreds of thousands of network devices supporting millions of servers, connected over a mix of dedicated backbone infrastructure, CLoS Network, and the Internet.
In this role, you will:
Own and develop highly available physical network infrastructure.
Attract, develop and manage a team of highly skilled engineers.
Define and develop roadmaps to deliver operational efficiencies.
Establish and report on a body of metrics that define service availability.
Solve difficult problems in distributed systems, infrastructure and highly available services.
Collaborate with Network Engineering, Network Monitoring and Operations Engineering organisations to deliver a highly available service to our customers.
Participate in the on-call rotation for managers.
Requirements:
5+ years experience managing network operations teams in a large ISP or cloud provider environment.
Folks with strong knowledge of protocols such as MPLS, BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, and DHCP. Also, VxLAN and EVPN will be an added advantage.
Experience with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and SSL.
Experience with network monitoring and telemetry solutions.
Experience with network modeling and programming – YANG, OpenConfig, NETCONF.
