BSc or MSc in Optical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field 5–10+ years of proven industry experience focusing strictly on optical/electro-optical system design, testing, and hardware development. Highly hands-on Deep experience building test benches from scratch using lasers, LEDs, integrating spheres, beam profilers, spectrometers, detectors, and precision optomechanics Proven track record of managing optical vendors, conducting site visits, and transitioning complex optical modules from R&D into High-Volume Manufacturing (HVM) Exceptional ability to document complex technical processes. Must be able to write clear, unambiguous specifications, test definitions, and engineering reports that leave no room for misinterpretation by global manufacturing partners Strong analytical programming skills (Python, MATLAB, or JMP) for automating data collection from lab equipment and analyzing large optical datasets Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of defending optical Background in specialized areas such as AR/VR/MR displays, LiDAR, depth sensing (ToF/Structured Light), micro-optics, or advanced computational photography Direct experience bringing up optical mass-production lines at tier-1 global contract manufacturers in Asia Familiarity with the effects of thermals, structural stress, and environmental reliability testing on precision optical module performance
