You'll report to the VP Engineering and work directly with the founders on the technical initiatives that shape where the product goes.
This is a hands-on role. You'll take ownership of complex, cross-cutting problems that span infrastructure, architecture, data, and product - the kind of problems that don't sit neatly inside one team.
If you're passionate about leveraging generative AI to automate complex workflow, enthusiastic about designing sophisticated data pipelines, and motivated by having an impact on the business, we want to hear from you.
Who are we?
We are Nominal, and we’re building the financial operating system for the most ambitious and fast-growing companies of our generation. We combined big data and AI to disrupt the ERP space that hasn’t changed in the last 25 years - and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. Joining us isn't just about filling a role- it's an unparalleled chance to actively shape the culture and direction of a company that's poised to make a lasting mark. It's an opportunity to dive deep, contribute actively, and embark on what could be the defining journey of your professional life.
Our Team
We are a team of seasoned executives and world-class engineers with a proven track record. Our leadership has been down this road before and our collective experience and insights are now channeled into creating a groundbreaking financial platform. We push our limits and challenge the status quo. We are backed by top VCs alongside prominent industry leaders.
Responsibilities and Impact
You'll own complex backend and infrastructure problems and build the systems that solve them hands-on, end to end, from architecture through production.
You will engage in the creation and automation of complex user workflows using the latest generative AI technologies, significantly streamlining operations and enhancing user experiences.
As a key member of our team, you'll also work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to own and solve technical and product problems, end to end.
You'll be responsible for everything from architecture, development, deployment and testing of complex event driven systems, and backend services.
Respond quickly to production and customer issues — find the gaps and ship fixes fast. You'll work closely with the onboarding and CSM teams, often in direct sync rather than through a manager's prioritization, and directly with customers when needed. (~10–20% of the role.)

High standards for code quality and a constructive attitude to help others raise the bar.
A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset - comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and defining problems as much as solving them.
Understands that customer-facing work is part of the role: fixing issues, hotfixes, and working with CSM, onboarding, and customer teams.
