We are looking for a System Engineer to join our System Engineering organization as part of the Ground Systems domain. The position reports to the Lead System Engineer – Ground Systems and serves as a key technical contributor responsible for the system engineering activities of Ground Control Systems (GCS) supporting advanced Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). The role includes defining operational concepts, system architecture, user workflows, interfaces, and system requirements while working closely with software, hardware, product management, testing, and external subcontractors throughout the system development lifecycle. Responsibilities Support the Lead System Engineer in defining the Ground Systems architecture for UAV platforms. Develop and maintain system requirements for Ground Control Systems (GCS). Define operational concepts (CONOPS), operational scenarios, and mission workflows. Develop operational use cases and end-to-end system behavior. Define system architecture for Ground Control Stations and supporting ground infrastructure. Define interfaces between: Ground Control Systems, UAV platforms, Communication systems, Payloads, External Command & Control (C2) systems Define Human-Machine Interface (HMI) requirements. Prepare System Requirement Specifications (SyRS), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and operational documentation. Support system integration, verification, validation, and acceptance activities. Participate in design reviews and technical trade studies. Work closely with subcontractors and external suppliers, including technical reviews and requirements management. Analyze customer operational needs and translate them into system requirements. Support customer demonstrations, integration activities, and operational evaluations.
