A leading defense technology company developing advanced space systems is looking for a Software System Engineer to lead complex software projects from concept through delivery.
The role combines system-level ownership, software architecture, requirements definition, and close collaboration with development, integration, testing, product, and engineering teams.
What you’ll do
- Own software systems and subsystems throughout the full development lifecycle
- Translate operational and business needs into clear system and software requirements
- Write system requirements, specifications, and design documents
- Define system architecture, interfaces, and data flows
- Break down system requirements into actionable development tasks
- Lead technical design reviews, including PDR and CDR
- Manage several software projects in parallel and drive delivery
- Work in an Agile environment using Azure DevOps
What we’re looking for
- B.Sc. in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in system engineering or technical software leadership
- Proven experience defining requirements and writing technical specifications
- Experience leading a software system, product, or project end to end
- Strong understanding of software architecture and development processes
- Experience working closely with multidisciplinary development teams
- Hands-on software development experience or a strong technical software background
- Experience with Agile and Azure DevOps
Experience in defense, aerospace, space systems, or other complex multidisciplinary environments is an advantage.
