Strong design, coding, analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly adapt to new technology and go deep into new areas. Independence and agility. Good social and interpersonal skills. Ways to stand out from the crowd: Experience with low latency acceleration and performance improvement. Experience with Linux user space/driver/kernel development. Deep knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP stack. Good view of system architecture and performance.
